Amy turns to medicine
|
With her booze-addled tantrums and legendary wild ways, Amy Winehouse is the last person you’d expect to see rolling up her sleeves to do a few shifts in a hospital. However, sources in St Lucia reckon the troubled jazz pixie is set to come to the aid of the sick and needy by offering her services as a volunteer.
Amy, who has been living on the Caribbean island for a few months in a bid to control her drinking and drug-taking, will help prepare meals for patients, as well as helping out with sick children and maternity clinics. The mind boggles…
“Amy is keen to look after children on the islands through these projects,” said an insider. “She has always been very giving and she has fallen in love with the St Lucians. She now just wants to do everything she can to make the islanders happier and healthier.”
Hmmm… let’s hope that Amy’s latest gift to the islanders goes down better than her last one – a performance at a local music festival in which she repeatedly hitched up her skirt to show the crowd her knickers before collapsing into the arms of a couple of security guards.
Apparently Wino was inspired to help the island’s sick and needy kids when news reached her of estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s impending fatherhood with 31-year-old Gilleen Morris, who he met in rehab.
When the bombshell was dropped, insiders claim the troubled star boomed: “I couldn’t have given him kids. And anyway, I want black kids, not white kids.” However, we’re assured that Wino isn’t set to follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Madonna, and the comments were taken out of context.
